Frequently Asked Questions about TOWERS
| Does the tower come with
mounting hardware? |
We provide all of the mounting
brackets, bolts and backing plates needed to install your
tower. |
| Will the tower fold back? |
Depending on where the tower is
mounted, it will fold back. If your tower requires side
mounts, there is a possibility that it will not be able
to lay back. |
| What colors can I get? |
Standard colors are black and white.
We can powder coat your tower a custom color for an
additional charge of $150 dollars. |
| What does it mean that the
tower is collapsible? |
Our towers have joints that are bolted
together. After you lay your tower back, the legs can be
folded down so that the entire tower lies below the
windshield (in order to do this, you must remove six
bolts, loosen six bolts, and fold in the legs). The tower
can also be completely disassembled for easy storage. |
| How tall is the tower? |
The tower itself is approximately 4
1¦2 feet tall. Once installed, it sits on average 7 to 7
1¦2 feet above the floor of the boat. |
| What size tubing do you use? |
Our towers are built with high quality
1 7/8-inch aluminum tubing. |
| Does your tower rattle? |
Our tower is solid! We have set screws
that prevent the mounts from rattling. You can expect a
quiet, sturdy ride. |
| What kind of paint do you use? |
We use high quality, durable powder
coating. |
| Will the mount damage my
fiberglass? |
No. We provide a rubber pad that goes
between the mount and your boat to help cushion the load. |
| Can you build a tower to fit
my boat? |
We can custom fit a tower to almost
any boat. If your tower exceeds standard sizes, there may
be additional charges, but it can be done. |

Questions about RACKS
| What size
mount do I need? |
Our

Pole=3", Two Piece Big Pole=2 1¦2"
General rule is 3"
for a one-piece pylon and 2 1¦2" for a two-piece
pylon. When in doubt, measure the outside diameter of the
pole. These are the only two sizes of mounts available
for pylons.
Towers:
Wake Cage= 1 7/8" mount
1 5/8" mount: fits
1 1¦4" to 1 5/8" OD (outside diameter)
1 5/8" mount with
long screws: fits 1 5/8" to 1 3¦4" OD
1 7/8" mount: fits
1 3¦4' to 2.0" OD
|
| Are the racks
going to scratch my board? |
No. We put a rubber
lining inside the forks to protect your boards. |

Speakers. |

The speaker specs are
as follows: WOOFER:

injected poly-mica cone with neo-rubber surround.
IMPEDENCE: 4 ohms
POWER HANDLING: 6-150
Watts

TWEETER: 2.175",

CROSSOVER: 12 dB per

|
| Do the tubbies
come pre-wired? |
The two speakers in
each tubby are wired out of phase to one terminal. This
means that the negative from one speaker is wired to the
positive of the other. The speaker system runs at 2
ohms. It is up to you to run your own wire into
your stereo system. |
| Do you need an
amp? |
In order to get the
most out of your tubbies, you need to get enough power to
the speakers. Your local car audio store can recommend
the best way to wire the tubbies into your system. It is
important to remember that the speaker system will run at
2 ohms. In general, we recommend between a 150 and
250 Watt amp. |
| Are your
speakers waterproof? |
The tubby system is
not water proof, but it is water-resistant. The tubbies
are 100% aluminum, and the speakers are Bazooka Marine
Speakers that are designed to handle high moisture
environments. |
| How do I run
the wire? |
It is up to you. Some
people run the wire inside the tubing of their tower, and
others strap it to the outside of the tubing. For pylons,
you can run the wires down the outside of the pylon and
secure them with straps. Velcro straps can be purchased
from our online store. Remember, if you have questions or
doubts, have your system installed by a professional car
audio store. |
